Framework for Creating Consistent Content
Lets try do Instagram & Twitter right.
To create content that aligns with your personal brand, builds a following, and encourages engagement on Instagram and Twitter, you need a clear, structured approach.
Here's a framework we can use, now to be clear I am mapping out what I have learnt for my branding & how I choose to implement the content strategy:
1. Define Your Content Pillars
These are the core topics you’ll consistently post about, aligned with your personal brand. Based on your interests and brand identity focused on personal growth, problem-solving, and innovation, your pillars might include:
Personal Growth & Productivity: Tips on self-discipline, overcoming obstacles & becoming a person of value (hero archetype).
Software Engineering Insights: Practical career growth tips & pitfalls, & possible solution to some common issues we face. Also share my journey as owner of R.A - working with clients, perfecting the product and all that.
Networking & Leadership: How to connect with thought leaders & build relationships, how to make your image work for you & also how to provide value in a network.
Learning & Innovation: Book reviews, insights from thought leaders, new technologies. I will be discussing books i read & how its knowledge can be applied practically.
These pillars should ensure that my content stays consistent & builds a recognizable theme.
2. Weekly Content Schedule (Consistency)
To create content every week, use the following format:
Monday – Thought Leadership (Inspire)
Instagram: A motivational quote or thought-provoking question with a short caption explaining how it aligns with your personal growth journey.
Twitter: A thread on overcoming analysis paralysis in decision-making, with a practical solution you’ve applied in your own life.
Message: Inspire others by sharing how your mindset helps you stay focused and productive.
Tuesday – Technical Tuesday (Educational)
Instagram: Carousel post with 5 tips on improving productivity as a software engineer (e.g., time-blocking, automation tools).
Twitter: A short, actionable tip on solving a specific coding problem you encountered, with a link to a longer post (if applicable).
Message: Offer your audience actionable insights they can implement right away.
Wednesday – Wisdom Wednesday (Learn & Share)
Instagram: A photo of a book you’re reading or a podcast you’re listening to, along with a key takeaway.
Twitter: Tweet a quick review or key lesson learned from a recent book, podcast, or talk you watched.
Message: Share your learning journey and encourage others to join in the discussion or share their own resources.
Thursday – Problem-Solving (Engage)
Instagram: Post a scenario where you faced a challenge in software development and how you solved it.
Twitter: Ask an open-ended question about a current problem in the tech world, encouraging responses and retweets.
Message: Engage your followers by making them part of the conversation and getting their input on challenges.
Friday – Flashback (Relatability)
Instagram: Share a personal story or experience (e.g., a time you felt stuck in analysis paralysis and how you overcame it).
Twitter: Tweet a short story about a challenge you faced early in your career and how you handled it.
Message: Show vulnerability and relatability, humanizing your brand.
Saturday – Showcase (Professionalism)
Instagram: Post a polished, professional photo (wearing a suit), showing you at work, at an event, or in a productive setting. Use a caption that highlights your commitment to excellence.
Twitter: Share a recent achievement, project completion, or milestone.
Message: Reinforce your brand’s professionalism and credibility.
Sunday – Self-Reflection (Values)
Instagram: A post reflecting on your week—what you’ve learned, what challenges you faced, and what you’re proud of. Include a call-to-action asking followers about their own week.
Twitter: A tweet about your reflections on personal growth and how you stayed consistent with your goals.
Message: Emphasize your core values of commitment, growth, and innovation.

3. Content Formats to Build a Following
To increase engagement and build a following, ensure your content is:
Visually Appealing: Use professional, well-lit photos and clean designs on Instagram. Utilize Twitter’s native thread feature for long-form content.
Value-Driven: Ensure every piece of content gives your audience something useful—either a tip, insight, or a call-to-action.
Engaging: Encourage interaction with questions, polls, and calls to action (e.g., “Comment below if you’ve experienced this!”).
Storytelling: Share personal anecdotes and stories that reflect your growth and challenges—this builds relatability and trust.
Hashtags: On Instagram, use relevant hashtags (e.g., #SoftwareEngineer, #PersonalGrowth, #ProblemSolver) to increase visibility.
4. Building a Following & Encouraging Outreach
Provide Value Consistently: Stick to your content schedule. This builds anticipation and trust among your followers. They’ll know what to expect from you every week.
Engage with Your Audience: Reply to comments, DMs, and tweets. Show your audience you’re approachable and value their opinions.
Collaborate with Influencers: Connect with thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and rule breakers in your network by tagging them, collaborating on content, or sharing their posts.
Create Interactive Content: Run polls, ask questions, and encourage your audience to share their opinions or experiences.
Use Stories/Spaces: On Instagram, leverage Stories to showcase more of your day-to-day life and thoughts. On Twitter, use Spaces to have real-time audio conversations with your audience.
Call-to-Actions: On Instagram posts, ask followers to DM you for personalized advice. On Twitter, ask them to share your posts or reach out for more insights.
Tracking & Optimization
Track engagement metrics (likes, comments, shares) on both platforms weekly. Adjust based on what your audience responds to most.
Use Instagram and Twitter analytics to see when your followers are most active and post accordingly.
Experiment with different content types (polls, videos, carousels) and formats.
Well I can only hope this works because if it fails it means we come back here and try doing it differently, that is also ok, we just have to keep learning &b sharing what we learn. Don’t forget, we are using S.M to increase brand awareness through sharing the brand vision through mission.
